Tyonek first entered the computer services business in March 1995 with the purchase of Digitech Solutions, Inc. (Digitech). Additionally, Digitech provided PC and mainframe computer services and support for large statewide companies and government agencies including Alaska Option, Anchorage Daily News, Carr Gottstein Foods, FAA, Federal Express, National Bank of Alaska, and Prime Cable.
Through Digitech, Tyonek also supported local area and wide area networks by providing extensive network design, testing and documentation, as well as negotiating and delivering Retail and ATM software packages on a customer-wide or chain-wide basis. At one point the company maintained over half of the state of Alaskas data communications traffic for its banking and retail customers. After approximately three years in the business, TNC sold its interest in Digitech to a subsidiary of Puget Sound Electric. After selling Digitech, Tyonek continued to market its products and services to the Federal Government. Examples of completed contracts include:
Various contracts negotiated by Tyonek have included Program-wide and Enterprise-wide software licenses. A Bureau of Census contract included the negotiation, management, and deployment of an 8000 seat Novell license contract, 5000 seats of Corel licenses, and 5000 seats of Campbell Services licenses for their On-time software.
One Social Security Administration contract included the negotiation and deployment of the Paperless programs Document Capture software, ICR3 from Associated Solutions, Inc. Two other SSA contracts required the negotiation of special pricing and implementation of Legatos backup software suite, Computer Associates ARCserve software packages, and IBMs DDCS database package.
Tyoneks experience in the installation and integration of hardware and software of similar types is extensive. These integration efforts included the acquisition, filtering and storage of all types of data such as video and acoustic data, document imaging as well as telemetry data from ground-based sources, satellites, aircraft and ships. Tyonek has designed, built and modified a variety of high-end PC-based, mini-computer and VME-based systems as well as DEC Alpha systems, networking components and video capture equipment for use by such agencies as NSA, CIA, NIMA, SSA, FBI and others both in government and industry.
Tyonek has built and integrated literally thousands of systems and provided extensive services and support in maintenance of them. Networking efforts have ranged from simple Ethernet LANs to the development of complex ATM enterprises, including provision of custom-built computers ranging from simple workstations to 6-CPU servers with 4GB of RAM and over 300GB on internal disk storage.
